About

Two Problems Human Clinics Do Not Have

Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor. A veterinary practice has clinical requirements plus noise and odour, and both are built rather than managed.

The space, and which services the practice will offer now and later. Those two decide almost everything about the buildout.

Noise

The complaint that closes practices, and it is built in

Odour

Solved by air handling, never by cleaning harder

Services

Surgery, imaging and boarding each change the building

Licensed

General contractor, licensed in the state of Florida

Noise is structural

Barking travels through slabs, walls and structure, not only through the air. A practice can treat a kennel absorptively and still transmit noise to the unit above, the tenancy beside it, or the exam room across a shared wall.

Which is why kennel location is settled first in the layout. It is free at that stage and impossible afterwards.

Odour is air handling

If kennels, isolation and treatment are not negative relative to the client areas, their air moves toward reception every time a door opens.

That single design decision determines whether a practice smells like one, and it costs nothing extra to get right.

What we will not substitute

Commercial flooring for specified clinical flooring. A lay-in ceiling grid in a surgical suite specified for a monolithic cleanable ceiling. Coved junctions for square ones.

Each looks similar, saves modest money, and produces a building that cannot be properly cleaned — which in a clinical setting is not a saving.

Licensing

Romco Builders is a licensed Florida general contractor. We do not design radiation shielding; that is a medical physicist's work and we build to their specification.

Next step

Find out what is actually wrong with it.

An inspection, photographs of what we found, and a written scope. If the honest answer is that it can wait another season, that is the answer you will get.
